J&J Scapes let us down badly, I will not be using them again

January 19th, 2012

I got Jeremy for J&J Scapes to quote to lay some lawn for us. I told him when they quoted that I needed the lawn laid before the 21 Jan as we were having a show house and needed it done by then. He assured me it wouldnt be a problem.

I also requested that he not arrive between 12 – 2pm as our baby sleeps then and the noise from the garden work would wake him up. He told me that the grass was arriving at 1pm and he would be there after that to do the work.

Yesterday he arrived at 12 but without any grass to lay. His excuse was that his supplier let him down. He wanted to do the cutting and trimming in the garden but I asked him to come back later as our 1 year old baby was sleeping, which he refused to do, commenting that his 3 kids worked around him, and not the other way around.

For those of you with kids you know how important the lunchtime sleep is and for another parent to blatantly dismiss the request to allow him to sleep really grated me. He then said that he had had a terrible day and that I was making it worse. Not great customer service thats for sure!

I then had no option but to cancel the job and find someone else to lay the lawn in order for our house to be ready to be shown on the 22nd Jan.

I had already paid R1400 deposit which I expected would be refunded to me in full, however Jeremy decided to keep R320 for himself for “loading the tools onto his trailer and fuel costs” . This after he failed to arrive with any lawn to lay and was technically therefore in breach of our contract.

Jeremy was rude, unaccommodating and does not put his customers interests first. I would recommend never using this company as they have no clue about keeping their customers happy.

To all the parents out there who need a garden lanscaping service in Cape Town I would steer clear of J&J Scapes www.J&Jscapes.co.za

Fun Suggestions for Celebrating Baby’s First Christmas

November 23rd, 2011

Just about the most momentous times in baby’s 1st year is his first Christmas. Although your child is too young to recollect it, it is a time that you’ll recall the rest of your life. Although every family has their own ways that they celebrate Christmas, here are some fun ideas that you can use:

* Baby’s first ornament. It is such a special tradition for youngsters to be able to hang their first Christmas ornament on the tree while they grow older. You can buy a ready-made baby’s first Christmas ornament, or you can choose to create your own as a fun DIY project.

* The baby’s very first Christmas stocking. Whether you purchase a stocking that is already made specifically for baby’s first Christmas or make one yourself, this is a fun keepsake which will allow you to keep in mind this special time. There are tons of great stocking patterns online that even those moms and dads with little sewing skills can make easily for a fun holiday project.

* Baby’s first Christmas ensemble. You can easily find a great number of choices of holiday outfits nowadays that proclaim “baby’s first Christmas”. You can find cute little rompers for the infants or beautiful and elaborate outfits for your older babies. This outfit is ideal when you are taking the baby’s picture for your holiday greeting cards, and it is fun to be able to have your baby wear during the busy holiday season.

* Baby’s first Christmas images. Make sure that you take just as many pictures as possible throughout the holidays so you can have a lot of memories of baby’s first Christmas. Once the holidays have ended, you can purchase special holiday picture frames for framing these memories, and then display these photos each year alongside new ones during the Christmas season. You also can purchase a digital picture frame that allows you to upload your digital pictures, and you can share these holiday photos with your friends and coworkers.

* Celebrate your baby’s first Christmas by giving. A lot of families celebrate their baby’s first Christmas through a donation for their favorite children’s charities. If you don’t actually have a favorite charity, you may consider giving to the Make a Wish Foundation, the Children’s Health Fund, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

It’s also important during this time for you to understand that baby is still very young and that he or she will not care when you don’t possess a lot to spend on gifts. More often than not your baby will like the colorful wrappings and bright ribbons which are wrapping the gift much more rather than what is within the box. This is a good reason for you not to concern yourself with the lack of ability to afford the best and biggest gifts. This is a special time for togetherness for the family, and there’s no cost that can be placed on the memories that you will make as you celebrate the holiday season with your new little one.

Kinesiology can help your child

July 8th, 2011

Children and animals can be treated using Kinesiology, EFT, Quantum Touch and crystal healing.

Kinesiology is a wonderful alternative health technique for animals, children and babies. Many alternative health techniques place a great deal of emphasis in taking a case history and then analysing this to arrive at a conclusion for treatment. With babies and young children this can be a challenge for any practitioner. This is where kinesiology has a major role to play.

So kinesiology is an information gathering technique. I work to raise the base level of energy in the body and there are a variety of correction techniques divided into four categories: structural, nutritional, emotional and energetic. These techniques are simple and non-invasive.

How do you test a baby or animal? Obviously, with animals, babies and small children testing can prove a challenge. In this instance I use a surrogate (usually the parent or owner), someone to stand in the place of the baby/child/animal being tested. The surrogate is linked to the baby/child/animal so I can gather information about the baby/child/animal by testing the surrogate. In practice this is very easy and results generated this way are as good as testing the baby/child themselves.

I use kinesiology, quantum touch, EFT and crystal healing to work with babies and children all the time. They usually thrive under this type of care. I have helped babies with a whole range of assorted childhood ailments from colic and sleepless infants to skin conditions, emotional upsets and childhood diseases.

Children and babies are naturally healthy, joyful, energetic and full of life. This is their natural state, and healthy infants are a joy to behold (ask any mother). If your child is not in this state there is a reason – please, for their sake, find out why. Babies only cry when they are distressed or upset – please find out the cause.

Teaching baby to swim

March 11th, 2011

Among the numerous attributes that can easily be made to children at an early stage in life, one which clearly stands out is that of swimming; once learnt, it is rarely, if at all ever forgotten. In fact that is the reason that a lot of emphasis is often placed on teaching children to swim right at their infancy stage, viz. when they are still babies. That is because; this is a stage which has practically no fear attached to swimming whatsoever. Otherwise, over time, a lot of young adults develop a fear for water – what is commonly referred to as aqua phobia.

Besides the obvious aspect of more focused and fearless learning, another clear advantage that baby swimming offers is that it can be so much fun for adults! Parents in particular tend to rejoice in the prospect of seeing their infant children being able to swim with complete nonchalance. Along the way, various memories are formed which in turn go on stay for life! Take for instance, the first time that an infant manages to stay afloat in water all by itself; or the first time, that an infant actually takes rapid strides while swimming, once again completely unaided and all by itself. These are memories which when captured on film become a part of lifelong memories which parents and the infant too will cherish, long after it has grown up!

Another clear advantage that baby swimming offers is the feeling and spirit of camaraderie. That comes about since babies tend to learn in an environment which in turn has fellow babies also looking to hone their skills in swimming. In such a scenario, they often end up making friends and acquaintances that go on to become a part of their circle of close associates, even much later in life. The same holds true for parents as well who also get a clear opportunity to enhance their social network amongst other fellow parents also looking to teach swimming to their kids.

Overall, if you are looking to groom your children as athletic and health conscious individuals in their youth and adulthood, then baby swimming would certainly be a very good instrument for you to actually do so. It has in fact been observed that in most cases, once babies are taught the nuances of swimming, they tend to continue pursuing the same, well into their adulthood as well.
